Terms & Conditions

These terms explain the conditions under which Chan Naga provides watch repair and restoration services. We have tried to write them clearly and fairly.

Last updated: 15 May 2025

1. About These Terms

These terms and conditions apply to all repair, restoration, and associated services provided by Chan Naga, located at 47 Thalang Road, Talat Yai, Phuket 83000, Thailand. By leaving a watch in our care or commissioning work from us, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes apply to work accepted after the date of any revision. The version on this page reflects the most recent update.

2. Accepting a Service

When you bring or send a watch to us, we will carry out an initial assessment before any work begins. We will then describe what we have found and propose a course of action, including an estimated cost and timeframe. Work proceeds only after you give explicit agreement — in person, by phone, or in writing.

If, during work, we discover additional issues that materially affect the scope or cost, we will pause and contact you before continuing. We will not undertake additional work without your agreement.

3. Estimates and Pricing

All prices quoted before work begins are estimates, based on the visible condition of the watch at the time of assessment. Final charges may differ if the work required turns out to be more or less extensive than anticipated. We will notify you of any significant deviation before proceeding.

Prices are stated in Thai Baht (฿) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Any required replacement parts are costed separately and confirmed in advance.

4. Collection and Delivery

Completed work is available for collection from our workshop during opening hours (Monday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00). We will contact you when your watch is ready.

If you require a watch to be returned by post or courier, this can be arranged at your expense and risk. We take reasonable care in packaging but cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage occurring during transit once the watch has left our premises.

Watches not collected within 60 days of completion notice may be subject to a modest storage charge. Watches not collected within 12 months may, at our discretion, be disposed of to recover outstanding costs, after reasonable attempts to contact the owner.

5. Service Warranty

We stand behind our workmanship. If a fault attributable to our work arises within 12 months of collection, we will assess and address it without additional charge.

This applies to the work we have carried out. It does not cover faults caused by:

  • Accidental damage, impacts, or misuse after collection
  • Exposure to conditions beyond the watch's rated specification
  • Subsequent work carried out by another party
  • Normal wear over time (crystals, straps, bracelet links)

For watches where third-party parts were sourced, any manufacturer's terms for those parts apply separately.

6. Your Watch and Our Liability

We treat every watch in our care with the attention it deserves. We hold comprehensive workshop insurance and take all reasonable precautions against loss, damage, or theft.

Our liability for any loss or damage while a watch is in our care is limited to the fair market value of the watch at the time it was received, as agreed between us. We are not liable for consequential losses, including sentimental value.

If you believe your watch has significant monetary value, we recommend that you inform us at the time of drop-off so that appropriate care and records can be arranged.

7. Watches Left for Assessment Only

If you leave a watch for assessment and subsequently decide not to proceed with any work, a modest assessment fee may apply to cover the time spent. This fee will be communicated to you before you commit to leaving the watch, and it will be waived if you proceed with the recommended service.

8. Parts and Original Components

During a restoration, we may need to replace worn or damaged components. Wherever possible, we use original manufacturer parts or period-correct alternatives appropriate to the watch. We retain any replaced parts and offer them to you when you collect your watch. If you do not wish to keep them, we will dispose of them.

We do not knowingly work on watches where the movement or case bears signs of illegal modification or provenance issues. If such concerns arise during assessment, we reserve the right to return the watch without carrying out work.

9. Payment

Payment is due in full upon collection of the completed watch. We accept cash in Thai Baht and major credit and debit cards. For restoration projects involving substantial parts costs, we may ask for a partial deposit before work begins; this will be agreed with you in advance.

10. Cancellation

If you wish to cancel a service after agreeing to proceed but before work is completed, please contact us as soon as possible. You will be responsible for any costs already incurred, including parts ordered or diagnostic work performed.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
