Founded on the idea that repair is a form of respect.
Chan Naga was established in 2006 by Khun Panya Srisuk, a watchmaker who trained in Switzerland and returned to Phuket with a conviction that the city's residents and visitors deserved access to the same level of movement care typically found in European capitals.
The name "Chan Naga" draws from the Thai word for the mythical serpent — a creature associated with guardianship and the careful preservation of something precious. It felt fitting for a workshop where watches with personal histories come to be restored.
From the beginning, the approach has been deliberate: diagnose first, explain clearly, confirm costs before starting, and carry out the work at a pace that respects the complexity of what is being done. That has not changed.

The people
Small by design.
Chan Naga is a deliberately small atelier. Every watch that comes through the door is handled by one of three people — which is how we keep the standard consistent.
Panya Srisuk
Principal Watchmaker
Trained in Switzerland and based in Phuket since 2002. Panya handles all movement overhauls and full restoration projects, with particular experience in Swiss mechanical movements from the mid-twentieth century onward.
Nanthawan Wichit
Technical Specialist
Nanthawan manages water resistance and seal services, and carries out diagnostic assessments. She joined Chan Naga in 2014 after completing a horology programme in Bangkok.
Krit Thamrongsak
Client Liaison & Parts Sourcing
Krit handles all client communication, appointment scheduling, and the sourcing of period-correct components for restoration work. He has built relationships with suppliers across Europe and Japan over the past decade.

Documented Intake Process
Every watch is photographed and described in writing when received. Condition records are shared with the owner, so there is a shared understanding from the very beginning.
Written Scope Agreement
Before work begins, we prepare a written description of what will be done and at what cost. Nothing is added to the scope without a new written confirmation from the owner.
Calibrated Testing Equipment
Timing regulation is carried out with a professional timing machine. Water resistance tests are performed with calibrated pressure testing equipment, not estimated.
Genuine and Period Parts
We use manufacturer-grade or period-correct parts where available. Non-original parts are identified and discussed with the owner before they are used.
Service Warranty on All Work
All completed services include a warranty period covering the work carried out. If the same issue recurs within the warranty, we address it without additional charge.
Client Data Privacy
Client details are held only for the purpose of managing the current service and follow-up communication. We do not share or sell personal information to any third party.
Our approach in practice
Watchmaking in Phuket, approached with care.
Phuket's climate — warm, humid, and punctuated by the sea — creates specific challenges for mechanical watches. The salt air that makes the island so appealing to those who live here accelerates corrosion in movement components and degrades gaskets more quickly than in dryer climates. Chan Naga was established with that environment in mind.
Our work spans the full range of mechanical and automatic movements. We are familiar with the common calibres found in Swiss watches across the past seventy years, including those from makers that no longer produce parts directly. For these pieces, Krit's sourcing network becomes essential — finding the right components, verifying their provenance, and fitting them in a way that maintains the watch's integrity.
For watches that come to us simply because they have lost some accuracy over the years, the basic service is usually sufficient. For those that have been near water without regular seal maintenance, the water resistance service addresses the most common points of entry. And for pieces with a deeper history — a father's watch, a piece from a significant occasion, something found at an estate — the full restoration path gives the watch the attention its story warrants.
We are not the fastest workshop in Thailand, and we do not position ourselves that way. The pace of our work reflects what the work actually requires. Owners who value that approach tend to return.
